Phil has a special interest in the use of orthotics for malalignment of the joints and skeletal structures both general and of the feet. {Joint malalignment may cause compensatory mechanisms e.g. Excessive pronation of the foot which is a common cause of foot, ankle, knee, hip and lower back pain.}
WHAT ARE FOOT ORTHOTICS?

Orthotics are insoles especially tailored for your feet worn in everyday footwear.
WHY?
They are used to restore the alignment of our feet to their neutral position. Mal-alignment causes compensatory movements such as knock knees, flat or inward rolling feet. These movements de-stabilise the feet putting strain on joints, muscles, tendons of the leg, foot, knees and even the back causing pain and damage.
Wearing an orthotic reduces the strain on the foot thereby reducing the pain and discomfort of lower leg and foot preventing further damage.
Whatever your age, if you suffer from heel, arch, ankle, lower leg or back pain why not book in for a biomechanical assessment? {An examination of your foot, lower leg function and gait}.
NAIL SURGERY
Nail surgery is another of Phil’s specialisms, whereby a painful ingrown toenail or part is removed painlessly using a local anaesthetic.
INGROWN TOENAILS AND NAIL SURGERY
When the side of the toenail becomes embedded in the skin as it grows, the surrounding area can weep, bleed, become inflamed and is easily infected. Usually this can be corrected by good professional nail-cutting and advice; However if the condition persists nail surgery may be necessary whereby the problem part of the nail is removed. For this simple but effective treatment :
A local anaesthetic is used to create a pain free area.
The troublesome portion of nail is removed.
The underlying area is chemically changed in most cases assuring that the condition does not recur.
You will be up and about straight away.

BOWEN TECHNIQUE AND HOMEOPATHY
Christine Lowson BSc (Hons), MARH, MBTER, CNHC
The Bowen Technique is a light touch, non-invasive therapy which stimulates the body to balance and heal itself. People have found Bowen to be beneficial in relieving conditions such as back pain, neck pain, migraines, frozen shoulder, asthma, hayfever, jaw problems, respiratory problems, sport injuries and many other health issues. Not only does it have powerful effects in reducing pain, it is also very relaxing and enormously beneficial for general wellbeing. Bowen is gentle and does not involve any harsh manipulation. The treatment can be administered through light clothing.

Homeopathy is a fantastic 200 year old system of medicine which works on a dynamic level to enable people to find more balance and health in their life. People mostly turn to homeopathy when they have not found a solution to their health problems with conventional treatment. Homeopathy has been found to help people with ear infections, infantile colic, asthma, hay fever, recurrent infections, hormonal problems, skin complaints, digestive disorders, emotional states such as grief, depression or anxiety and many other conditions.Bowen Technique and Homeopathy complement each other very well. Both therapies are suitable for people of all ages from new born babies to senior citizens.
Christine is a registered member of the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths, the Bowen Therapists’ European Register and the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council. She believes passionately in freedom of choice for healthcare and sees integrated health as the way forward to a healthier and happier nation.
